3.1 The parties may agree to nominate an Appointing Authority, but if there is no such agreement the Appointing Authority shall be the President or a Vice President for the time being of the Institute.

3.2 Any application to the Appointing Authority to act under the provisions of these Rules shall be accompanied by:-

(a) copies of the arbitration notice and any response or other related correspondence or documentation;

(b) confirmation that a copy of the application has been served upon the other party;

(c) particulars of any method of or criteria for selection of arbitrators agreed between the parties.

3.3 The Appointing Authority or the Institute if it is not the Appointing Authority may require payment of a fee by either or both parties for any services rendered under these Rules.
